The Travelling Time Bandits

A couple doing van life travels and escape rooms!

A Sweet Surprise 🍫

After a spontaneous weekend campervan trip to the Isle of Anglesey, we stumbled upon a hidden gem that turned out to be the cherry (or should we say cocoa bean?) on top of our adventure. Nestled in the heart of Anglesey is Mr Holt’s Chocolate Factory – but this isn’t just chocolate haven (although the chocolate was delicious!) It’s also home to one of the most original escape rooms we’ve ever experienced.

Escaped: Yes ✅

Time Escaped In: 23 minutes ⏱️

Theme: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

What We Loved ❤️

Original and Unique: This was our 25th escape room, and nothing like we had done before. The room was bursting with creativity. From quirky puzzles to the vibrant design, and it certainly felt like a loving nod to the film.

Fun Side Quest: Beyond the main objective, we discovered a delightful side quest that added an extra layer of challenge and charm.

Real Chocolate Rewards: Yes, you read that right – REAL chocolate! It wasn’t just a gimmick; it was woven into the experience in a way that felt magical.

What Makes This Escape Room Special?

Many things, but something that stood out for us (aside from the amazing escape room experience was Mr Holt himself, who guided the experience with warmth and enthusiasm. His passion for both chocolate and escape rooms shines through, making the adventure feel personal and unforgettable.

Final Thoughts 🤔

This escape room is a golden ticket for anyone who loves immersive storytelling, clever puzzles, and a touch of sweetness. Whether you’re a die-hard escape room fan, a chocolate lover, or just looking for a fun activity in Anglesey, this experience is a must-try. It’s a perfect blend of storytelling, challenge, and indulgence—a true hidden gem in North Wales.

Until the next time,
